[78-L] Turntable repair question (was Re: Cheap Turntables (Up to $600))

my experience with older tables is that they do indeed need lubrication, 
both the motors at times and automatic arm mechanisms and such

also check that any belts are not slack

if it is not running now, I don't see how adding a little lube, such as 
a very light electric motor oil, would hurt
