Richard Sears writes about this in the V-Disc Book, which was awfully nice of
him since this wasn't issued on V-Disc.

"On September 24, 1946, RCA Victor used a lacquer from the film's soundtrack to
make up RCA Victor 40-4003. This record included "Moppin' and Boppin'",
composed and arranged at the studio by Fats Waller and Benny Carter as an extra
soundtrack number (fragments of which were used occasionally in the film) and
"Ain't Misbehavin'". Steve Sholes, formerly withg the V-Disc Group, supervised
the session for RCA Victor."

Canadian pressings were on purple label.

Note that the matrix is dated 1946, D6, whichis three years after Waller died. This means, of course, that thesoundtrack dubbing onto disc was done in 1946. The V indicates it is forVictor records, so as dl says, it was not an exclusive UK issue. Andthe C indicates 12-inches.Mike Biel mbiel at mbiel.com _______________________________________________78-L mailing list78-L at klickitat.78online.comhttp://klickitat.78online.com/mailman/listinfo/78-l
