Just got a CD: Elliot Lawrence and his orchestra "Matinee at the Meadowbrook" (Collectors Choice CCM1056.) This broadcast is shown as September 7, 1946.
Two vocalists are credited: Jack Hunter, and Sally Stuart.
Stuart is shown for three tracks: "What Is This Thing Called Love"; "Blue Skies"; and "Millionaires Don't Whistle".
The girl vocalist for "Blue Skies" is unfamiliar, and could well be Sally Stuart, described in the liner notes as having worked with Blue Barron and Sammy Kaye.
However, the other two tracks sound very much like Rosiland Patton, whose great vocals sparked the band in its early years.
What do you think, (or already know?)
