Ty's ODP lists the Voc 1000 race series, incl.:
1073 HAYES,ROLAND BYE AND BYE E02874 England - -1923 -
1073 HAYES,ROLAND GO DOWN MOSES C7837 SU2238 E02873 -1923 (Chicago)
1074 HAYES,ROLAND SWING LOW SWEET CHARIOT C7799 - 3177 -1923 (Chicago)
1074 HAYES,ROLAND STEAL AWAY 2875 - - -1923 -
wich also shows the (C) nrs.
Voc 21002 is by Hayes (...Moses (...) / BY AN' BY), as is 21003 (Steal Away / ...?) and 1073/74 are
reissues.
Voc 21001 (a p-solo) was listed as new issue in the Vocalion Record Bulletin of Dec 1923, and possibly the
Hayes records were also issued in that month.
Voc 1072 by rev Worell was recd 17 Dec 1926 and thus issued early 1927.
Were the C-numbers Chicago mx or control nrs?

Need to know what the following numbers are:
Vocalion 21005
C7799
C7837
VO 1073
VO 1074
These numbers are referenced as issues of Roland Hayes recordings from
the 1922/3 London sessions,
however the number 21005 (which is given in the NEW WORLD LP notes) refers
to titles which were issued on 21002 - I suspect this is a typo, but
would like confirmation.
The others might be release or matrix numbers - I do not find pairs of titles
referencing the same numbers. So these may be single sided (if such were
issued), paired with another performer, or pseudo matrix numbers.
Concerning Vocalion matrix numbers - I have one instance
where a UK issue and US issue have the same basic number, but
the UK version suffixed with an X (02874X/02874 By an By).
Anyone know what this indicates? (alternate take, dub, nothing?, ??).
Thanks!
Best wishes, Thomas.
