[78-L] Now's your chance, boys and girls

Steve,

Thank you again for your kind (and VERY humorous) reply. I never knew that the welcome of some members of an online group dedicated to collecting and preserving 78 rpm records could so quickly turn hostile. I merely joined the group to learn details of recordings from yesteryear, and NOT to have the rather viperous comments subtract from my enjoyment. Who knew that this Vogue Picture record discussion could arouse anger; certainly NOT what I intended. Phil Spitalny must be spinning in his grave...

If I may translate for Mr. Beard, I think what he was saying was

"My dear Mr. Lennick, in light of your 40 years of professional etc., your
unstumpable head for even the most obscure trivia, and your mindboggling
trove of stories -- not to mention the stylish and engrossing way you tell
them -- perhaps you could put on your raconteur hat for a moment and favor
those of us who lack all of the above with some expounding of your reasons
for not liking Mr. Lenny? Because based on past evidence this is likely to
be witty and illuminating. Us young'uns usually only get the hagiography."

That's what I heard, anyways.
