OK 8436 labels (orig & repressing) give only "Hardin" as composer of Jazz
Lips,
and also of the reverse Skid-Dat-De-Dat.

I don't know how Michael Minn and Scott Johnson determined the credits
which they list on the Armstrong site. My theory is that they are
listing the credits on the sheet music and not from the recordings.

Which Hines titles mention Robin? Was he a lyric writer?
>>>
I had assumed that Robbin/Robin was someone in the mix of the hot Chicago
jazz scene. But further investigation shows that he was a lyric doctor
on this title with Hines:
- "My Monday date." Original words & music: Earl Hines, new words: Sid
Robin.
(Incidentally, the title "refers to weekly jam session with Hines,
Armstrong, & wife." Two pianos?)

Unlikely that an ASCAP composer b.1912 would be active with the Armstrong
family in Chicago, Nov 1926...

Agreed, unless it was a long-distance partnership. Cary G may still be
right that this is the ASCAP lyricist, but the attribution seems to have
come after the recordings. Perhaps his involvement didn't begin until
the tunes were being ready for publication as sheet music.
