No! Berliner bought the rights to the painting well before that date...but
it wasn't used
in advertising until he decamped for Montreal around 1899, to escape legal
battles
which wound up with his being enjoined from selling his own invention!
IF you can make it available as a "sound file," the lyrics should make it
clear
whether or not the song is about a/the dog...?!
