[78-L] Song Swappers

BTW, the SONG SWAPPERS are also credited
for the first side of the TALKING UNION LP 5285.
It is not clear from the discussion I've seen if this group (Song Swappers)
had the same personnel or was a catch-all for whoever was
around (somewhat like the Almanac Singers, and the Union Boys).
I think it is NOT made explicit in the album notes - if anyone
has a high speed link and can check them, that would be
interesting to know.
The AP Travers obit says she backed Seeger on ONE album, don't know
if that is FACT or generalization.
If fact, she may only be on the Talking Union set...????
Can anyone supply the details of the source for
the first side of the Talking Union album ???
(the second side is a reissue of the KEYNOTE album).
My recollection (possibly faulty) is that there was
a 78rpm album, 2 12" records, by Pete Seeger of
union songs - the labels were the same trade mark
later used by Folkways BROADSIDE label (i.e. a bell ringer
town crier motif). POSSIBLY UNION Records -???
DOES ANYONE HAVE THE FACTS, and details.???
Thanks, Thomas.

Good to know! I have 6911. No jacket or notes, as I say, so it wasn't till a
few years ago that I knew Mary was part of that group.
