[78-L] Earliest recording of "Hatikvah"

Dear friends:

 

A researcher has asked if I can help him date the earliest commercial
recording of the Zionist (and later, Israeli national) anthem, "Hatikvah".
Apologies for cross-posting. 

 

After a most cursory look, it appears the earliest released recording is
from 1905. Per the Spottswood EMOR, Schmulwich (aka Smulewitz, Shmulevitz,
etc.) recorded the song in 1905, on Zonophone 3002, 50043 in NY in 1904.
(EMOR, p. 1524) Does anyone have the recording? 

 

The next release I know of was by the Sephardic singer Haim Effendi in 1913.


 

Known song title variants (and the Rigler Deutsch listings for these
variants) below. Of course, the Rigler Deutsch entries in WorldCat do not
have any dating information at all...
