WOW! I sure opened a can of worms here! Mike, I have to agree with Duane here. I posted this as an "interesting" show to hear. I did ask Paul permission to copy it and I'm sure he's sorry I did. The posting I copied was originally made to the Folk-DJ's newsgroup where the DJs post their playlist. These are all - well mostly all - volunteers. I was impresed that Paul did research.

He's starts out the show saying he just started in a communications course. Heck, he's a student.

I have only listened to 1/2 the show so far and - yes, EVEN I found errors. He's playing a Polk Miller song - taken from Ken Flahery's CD and says it's a Blue Amberol from 1909. (They didn't start until 1912). And maybe a few other items. But this show is a one shot (except the stream stays for 2 weeks) at 2pm on a Sunday. Trust me, I'm lucking I knew about it. I found it enjoyable.

I'm sure others here want to know if you have LISTENED to the WHOLE show yet. You based your two emails on the text of Pauls posting (aimed at fellow Folk DJs). This had nothing to do with his instructor.

I hope Paul has a thick skin because, personally, I think you came down too hard on him. You know me well enough that I admit I know a little about a LOT of things but don't have the expertise you do. And, yes, I think you can help Paul with info - if he wants it - but not to overload him. We want to encourage folks like him to seek out courses, not avoif them.

So folks - if we want to discuss formats - lets do that out of the contect of my posting (and change the subject line). For those who want to hear and interesting mix of music for 2 hours, check out the stream. And - if nothing else - you'll get to hear a reare unissued Tom Lehrer song.

Thanks.
