I just heard that there will be a big article in Arts & Leisure section of tomorrows NY Time on Tucker and the new CD from Archeophone.

Richard and Megan who run Archeophone asked if I'd post this here (see below)

Dear friends,

Now available: Sophie Tucker's earliest recordings on Origins of the Red Hot Mama, 1910-1922--24 tracks in a CD-sized hardback 72-page full-color book. It features dozens of illustrations, many extremely rare-and many of them taken from Sophie's personal scrapbooks. Documentarians Susan and Lloyd Ecker, who have worked for three years amassing thousands of pages of notes and effects and have taped interviews of almost everyone alive who knew Sophie, wrote the extensive notes. Visit our home page to see a promotional clip and hear samples at http://www.archeophone.com or read more about the CD at http://www.archeophone.com/cds/5010. Regular price is $23.99, but it is on sale for the next three weeks at $20.99.

Of special note about the CD: singer Michael Feinstein provided the Foreword, and Carol Channing contributed a personal remembrance of her old friend, Sophie Tucker. These two stars have made this a truly remarkable production.

Fall Sale: Sophie Tucker may be red hot, but the weather in the heartland has been cool, even autumn-like. So we're kicking off our annual Fall Sale a week early. Every CD is at least 10% off. See the entire list at: http://www.archeophone.com/complete_catalogue.php
If you are considering buying several CDs at once, make sure to check out our Package Deals at http://www.archeophone.com/catalogue.php?cPath=28 . Sometimes the deals on packages are even better than selecting sale items individually.

Thank you for all your support!

Cheers,

Richard and Meagan
