Canada, of course, got tons of English material as far back as the 1910s and 
20s. I have Billy Williams recordings on Apex (ex Jumbo, I think) and Columbia 
R4000 series, and Canadian Victor (still His Master's Voice until 1925) issued 
concert artists, music hall stuff and the like..for that matter, the d'Oyly 
Carte set of "Yeomen of the Guard" appeared on Canadian Victor before the 
Americans brought it out.

Hylton was on US Brunswick even before Decca began issuing him in the States.
