BUT...keep in mind that we are in the 21st century...and as a result
(especially in the surviving media...?!)...money isn't EVERYTHING...
it's the ONLY thing! As much as I enjoy blues (and play it on a
"semi-pro" basis?!)...it has over the years attracted a small set of
DIShonest, constantly-competing 78-ophiles. There are ALL too
many tales of one blues-78 collector having met his end...and his
blues-78-collector compatriots having attended his wake, and
then tried to leave with rare 78's tucked into their "baggage!"

Hey, I own about 55,050 (+/-) 78's...and their net value is
probably WELL below a nominal $55,050...?! I deliberately
avoid "RARE! VALUABLE!" 78's...the worth-while ones
have almost all been reissued...and the others are almost
ALWAYS of little/no musical interest!

78 collecting is virtually the LAST collecting hobby which
has (so far, anyway?!) avoided the otherwise-inevitable
pattern of "collecting for MAXIMUM financial return!"
(e-wotsit idiots excluded!?)! As a dedicated "pack rat,"
I have watched other collecting "hobbies" (Hey, I have
a VERY rare "Beanie Baby" with a PUCE tag rather
than the standard mauve!?) deteriorate into flimsy
excuses for MONEY collecting...in total screaming
frustration!

Once again...SCROOM!
