[78-L] Car Record Players

Only available in Chrysler products, like this DeSoto, they played 7-inch 16-2/3 RPM records, six of which came with the player. It cost a hefty $70, which was a lot of money in 195x. Does anyone know if other records were produced for this thing? I'm having trouble picturing how this would be a good idea, even with the soft suspensions of these American boats.
