I meant Original Broadway Cast albums but aside from Desert Song, RCA did come
out with Say Darling and New Girl in Town in the summer of '58. Jamaica is
listed (in the April 1959 stereo section of Schwann) but doesn't have a date.
For what it's worth, here are some others, including soundtracks, that were
issued in 1958.
Carousel, soundtrack (Capitol SW 694) 11/58
Certain Smile (Columbia CS 8068) 10/58
Cinderella (Columbia OS 2005) 12/58
Damn Yankees, soundtrack (RCA LSO 1047) 11/58
Goldilocks (Columbia OS 2007) 12/58
The King and I, soundtrack (Capitol SW 740) 9/58
Me & The Colonel (RCA LSO 1046) 10/58
The Music Man (Capitol SWAO 990) 12/58
The Old Man and the Sea (Columbia CS 8013) 10/58
Raintree County (RCA LSO 1038) so much for the legend of this album being
"promptly withdrawn", if it was still in Schwann the following year..!
Sayonara (RCA LSO 1041) 8/58
Slaughter on 10th Avenue (Decca DL 78657) 10/58
South Pacific, soundtrack (RCA LSO 1032) 8/58
The Young Lions (Decca DL 78719) 10/58
