Mr. Lennick!  About four years ago, I did a four-CD set with all the post-1936 Colonna stuff (everything from the time when he became primarily a comedian rather than a trombonist).  You'll find it over at the Toast of New York group.  

Frank DeVol wrote "Cow Pasture Polka," and around 1989 or so I got to meet him and asked him about it.  He said, "Everyone asks me about that song, and I have absolutely no memory at all of writing it!  I know I wrote 'Happy Tavern Polka'..."  So, no great stories were forthcoming.
