[78-L] Maloof

Does anyone have some biographical info, or can point me toward same, on Arabic recording artist Alexander Maloof? He has one of the largest shares of the Gennett catalogue, and printed music going back to 1901, not to mention that Charles Tomlinson Griffes did an arrangement of a Maloof piece called "A Trip to Syria." Otherwise, I can't find very much on him.
