There's also a Recordoon in central Florida. Six or seven years ago I was
calling on bookstores in central Florida and at the end of one day came
accross a record store. I looked through the couple of hundred 78s and
didn't find anything. They were closing and told me that the "collectible"
78s were in the building next door and to be sure to come back and look at
them. I never found the store again. Looked the next couple of times I
was in that part of Florida but never found it. That taught me to pick up a
business card. Or at least play more attention.
Central Florida was also the place I got locked inside an antique mall.
There were several thousand LPs in a space in the back of the store. My
watch was still on central time so when the store closed at 6 I was
blithely still looking at all the LPs thinking I still had an hour left. I
was sitting on the floor between fixtures and they didn't see me when they
closed the store. The lights where I was stayed on. When I walked to the
front to pay for my finds I set off a motion alarm. I'm just glad the two
police officers didn't feel the need to fire their drawn weapons as
approached. Record hunting can be dangerous. I guess I really should pay
more attention.

Biel... It's not Brigadoon... It's "Recordoon"... or "Recordroom"
I've been lotta times dere... lotta times... always by nite. In my dreams
I've dreamed with shops like "Recordoon", but... know what? I NEVER had
money enough to buy some 78s... !!!
What d'ya think?
One sunny Sunday morning I was comin' back home from the Sunday flea market
(Madrid's Rastro) with some (half dozen) 78s under my arm. I was sittin' in
the bus, quietly, during a nice trip, watchin' the streets and people thru
the screen, when an old lady came and sat beside me. He observed the 78s and
told me he had lotsa dem from her fatha, and told me to go home with her if
I wanted dem ... she would be happy to giv'em a good home...
Knowutt? Really wanna KNOWUTT? I felt a bit afraid... afraid from going' to
a strange home... lotsa scaring stories about kidnapping and so and so...
and I told her a "No, thanks a lot!".
And lost a grrreat opportunity!
Another Recordoon?
