[78-L] Yiddish Home on the range

Funny you should mention that one..I just won a copy of it last week, upgrading 
my old cracked copy. Mickey Katz made several sides for Victor in the late 40s 
before going over to Capitol around 1950. He'd previously been with Spike Jones 
for a couple of years. The Victors are specifically aimed at a Jewish audience 
and include some sketches, parodies of popular songs and out and out Klezmer 
material..Capitol wanted him to appeal to a wider audience but didn't 
discourage a certain amount of Yiddish, even if it was only in the title 
(Geshray of de Vilde Kotchke remains a favorite of many Gentile DJs from that 
period).
