[78-L] Movie anachronisms

We just watched "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" for the first time in a few
years. A surprising number of anachronisms..a lot more than I see listed on the
IMDB website, in fact. And a couple I want to check on with you folks.

But first..the one and only shot of a rotating 78 looks like the real thing, a
Brunswick with the correct run-out (pre-ARC, or possibly mid 30s LA).

The film is clearly stated to take place in 1932. A couple of visible
references, plus Hoover still referred to as President.

So here we go..

Jane Fonda says "If she's not pregnant, I'm Nelson Eddy." Nobody knew who he
was in 1932..he was still in opera till 1935.

A movie starring Anita Louise and Richard Cromwell is discussed..it didn't
exist till later. (Is it "The Most Precious Thing in Life"? That's from 1934.)

Johnny Green threw in all his hit songs as music director, including "Easy
Come, Easy Go", which is plugged throughout..he must have felt sorry for it
because it ALSO didn't exist till 1934. (Odd that "Body and Soul" is heard only
briefly toward the end.)

An ad for the "RCA Magic Brain" is seen a number of times in the dance hall.
That's from 1934, no?

I'm not sure about the microphones in the dance hall..they all look like RCA
44s. Don't know when those were introduced, but would they really have been
used in a dance hall when they were the top of the line for broadcast and
recording studios?

Any others, any corrections?
