[78-L] More DVD recommendations

Just got three new MGM DVD reissues from Fox. They came out on 4/7. NO bonues, not even a trailer, but first time on DVd in  nice color prints (well the one I watched so far). Just watched "A Song Is Born" the 1947 musical remake of Ball of Fire (which is almost a takeoff of Snow White and Seven Drawfs.

 

The highlight is mid section jam with Goodman, Armstrong, Bellson, Timmy Dorsey, Buck & Bubbles and Golden Gate Quartet (among OTHERS) all in one room, doing ONE song!

 

Plot is silly but worth renting.

 

Next up to watch is The Goldwyn Follies.
