[78-L] Ruby Green

Does anyone know if a (possibly) Canadian soprano named Ruby Green, who appears
in a number of references in Toronto newspapers (1923-30) giving concerts and
radio broadcasts all of a "lyric soprano" variety, is the same Ruby Green who
sang on some Canadian Victor 78s as a soloist and also as vocalist with Joseph
C. Smith's Orchestra? (216466, Friml's "On the Blue Lagoon" definitely features
a trained soprano voice, in the excruciating Jeanette MacDonald style.) Or is
she THIS Ruby Green, immortalized in a painting by James Chapin?

a doctor to be able to read the accompanying article.)
Given the times, if the Ruby Green in the painting were the lyric soprano in
the concerts, there would definitely be references to her non-Caucasian
features and this is not the case.
