Tough label to find, congratulations.

Melva was linked to Clarion, Cardinal, Royal and possibly others.  Clarion was started by Jacques Kohner after he left Lyraphone Company of America (Lyric discs), which was after he left Paroquette, which was after he left Majestic Record Corp.  I believe the C prefix denotes this as a Clarion master.

Junking around today I found my first Melva label disc, c. late 1921:

8017A (C760-2) When Francis Dances with Me sung by William Johnson, orch
accomp.
8017B (C749-1) Dapper Dan, sung by Frank Christy, orch accomp.

Melva Record Company, Brooklyn, NY

Rust says there's a Clarion (not the later label) relationship.

No question, just crowing...!
