(hopefully I have not mis-remembered the title of his early hot recording).

Hi Yves,

The great jazz trombone guy from the late 50s to about the mid-70s was Bob 
Havens,  who is one of the few old-time Welk guys still playing.  Vince 
Giordano told me that he plays some jazz festival gig once a year with Bob, 
who is still playing great jazz on the ol' slip horn.

Speaking of Welk and trombones...y'all do yourself a favor and check out the

YouTube video of Welk playing "It's Easy to Remember"  featuring all four 
trombones,  both solo and together...I love that clip.
