I remember that Welk would play some great music at almost any given show (you just had to wait for the swing titles), in the late days I think it was Henry Questa who had the clarinet chair (it seems like it was very important to Welk to have a great jazz clarinet man, seeing Fountain and Bonnee were also holders of the same seat), who was the trombonist in the 70's, I remember him to be a fine musician as well
