No...he died in a fire but it was around 1935,  not long after his last 
records with Reser.  Arthur Fields also died in a fire in the 40s,  and I 
seem to recall the same fate for Marion Harris.

The only big-name celeb who was lost in the Grove fire was cowboy movie star 
Buck Jones.
