[78-L] In with the Inn Crowd? ^

Thanks, Al, and thanks to all who have written me.

Not to beat the ol' dead horse, but I think I owe the group an apology for
my contribution to the grumpy e mail cycle. It was not my intention to just
pour more gasoline on the flames, but it may have looked that way to some
of you.

The trouble with communication by e mail, as we all know and should keep in
mind, is that the tone of the writer can't always be inferred with any
certainty...and what might have been meant as a light jab ends up sounding
and feeling like a nasty poke, or worse.

Let's all have a Happy 2009 on 78-L.

Taylor B

I try not to use terms that a particular race of people feel offensive
rather it is politically correct or not. This due to it hurting some of the
nice people of that race. However I dislike the politically correct liberal
left “inn crowd” of this country.

Ken, I'm a charter member of the "inn crowd." Guess what our theme song is?
"There's A Small Hotel"!!!

I've decided that I won't let a few people spoil my fun on this chat line,
so I have "returned." The only difference is that now I will be using the
SPAM filter to block certain senders.

My "return" may be received the same way as what happened to a young actor
in a story about Noel Coward. Seems Coward was in NYC in the late 20s and
there was an egocentric young actor who was going around saying "farewell"
to everyone, as he would soon be sailing to London to appear in a major new
play in the West End.

The "farewells" and "going-away" parties lasted for more than a week. Then
two weeks after, Coward ran into the fellow on the street, still in New
York. And Coward greeted him with the immortal "Ah...forgotten but not
gone."
