others before Belafonte's in 1953 or Paul's in 1952 that are NOT by a calypso
artist, Paul always claimed he was the first that was not by a Calypso artist
(Belafonte is NOT a Calypso singer, but a very fine vocalist IMHO, and yes, I
prefer the 1955 version, but then Tony Scott with a band including Bud Shank,
Jim Hall, Ted Nash, Si Zentner and the remarkable Jimmy Giuffre - who is also on
the Yves Montand USA live concert Lp with Jim Hall BTW - wish there was a jam
session on it), just wondering
