[78-L] The infamous HMV crackle

A period of British records were notorious for this to the point that  
many of us would avoid them if other pressings existed. I don't know  
of documentation but it was everyone's understanding that there was  
abrasive in the disks for shaping the needle to the groove. I don't  
know of any other records from that period that presented this problem.
