When I was out at the annual installation in the Starr-Gennett Foundation Walk Of Honor last September, I found that ALL of the Richmond, Indiana crowd pronounce the label "Gen-NET"). The family was of Italian origin, probably at first "Gennetti." So it makes sense.
 
It was a correction for me personally after saying GEN-nett all these years.
 
Oh, for wierd pronounciations do come to Central New York. Pulaski is "pull-ask-eye," Chili is "chy lie."
