[78-L] Victor album Numbering anomaly

I'm just curious

I have "Die Walkure" in a 2 album set numbered M26 and M27.  I have "Messiah" also in two albums numbered M1194 and M1195, I also have, (I think), "Un Ballo..." in three albums but it's in the sub frozen garage and I'm in my pyjamas so I don't know how that's numbered, but between these two, I have Mass in B minor in two volumes both numbered M184.  Is there an inconsistency here?  Was this just a slip, or was Mass in B minor originally intended to be released in one large album and by the time they decided to separate it into two, M183 and M185 were already assigned.
