Hi!

Although it would be fair enough to call, (as they did) Peter Dawson 
as a bass-baritone, to call Robeson a bass-baritone, let alone a 
baritone, is clearly ridiculous.

Although Robeson could colour his voice is a lighter way when singing 
certain songs, the range in which he sang or even spoke marks him 
obviously as a proper BASS!

It could only have stemmed from some in house categorizing system 
that maybe thought that 'baritone' would sound more commercial or, 
failing that, someone with tin ears! ;-)
