based on a boat service which ran up/down the Hudson River...?!
However...this message suggests a whole NEW thread! This is "Nicknames
of rail-roads based on the initials on their boxcars or...?!" For example,
the
"Rock Island line" was formally the "Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific" or
"CRI & P" which was known among its employees as "the cry and pee" for
obvious reasons! As well, the TP&W was known as "Take Patience and
Wait" (officially, the Toledo, Peoria and Western, BTW) in the days when
it ran passenger service...!
Anyone out therei in Radio-Land know any others?!
