[78-L] Nostalgic! Vaughn Meader

That album was such a fast seller that some stores (maybe only in Canada) were 
forced to sell the discs without the covers until new ones could be printed up. 
The Life photo is from December 1962. The follow-up album wasn't out longer 
than a few weeks when JFK was killed. Lenny Bruce had to fulfill an engagement 
that weekend and went out on stage, gauged the mood of the audience, and 
finally said "Vaughn Meader is f**ked!"

Another album that died: Rich Little's "Scrooge And The Stars" on Canadian 
Capitol. He did a JFK voice at one point, and the album had to be redone (a 
Lloyd Bridges impression was spliced in) but it was too late for that year's 
Christmas. The original album was mailed out to reviewers with a letter dated 
.. November 22, 1963.
