Also I think the phisical "waves" are more enlogated in the outside than in the inside of a flat circular record.

On a cyliinder this phisical diference does not exist.

Right?

At 1x (realtime speed) a CD spins from 200 rpm on the inside to 600 
rpm on the outside. 2x, 4x, 8x & 16x are just available recording & 
playback speeds that a computer drive can use with the media.
