Howard:  Yep, I agree using symbol-insert is a bit cumbersome; but, I personally don't use it all that often.  I have the few common ones I use all the time memorized (alt + xxxx).   And, if I do forget to preset where it goes (and Microsoft programming always seems a bit cumbersome to me) I simply drag'n'drop it to the right spot after inserting it.

Example:
And, I was going through a long list of items and put a "circle with a dot" to note a photo of that item was available.  After 'insert-symbol' was used once I simply copied and pasted it in the next 100 places.

Always a 1/2 dozen ways to do the same thing in most Microsoft programs (sometimes that is good, sometimes bad, and sometimes confusing).    Just thought I'd present another way to go about it.

In every group you have a wide range of knowledge and habits on using the computer.
