'Copyright' would not apply to such a term. The term Viva-Tonal was indeed  
trademarked (several times) by Columbia, as early as 1926.  Victor's  
'Orthophonic' was not (at that time), despite a plethora of other -phonics (e.g.  
Super-, Sym-).
