Nothing is unusual about this email delay. Many things can delay an email, because any
Internet problem can delay email while they are held in a transport email server. The server
will re-try to send the email for 3 days before sending a message back to the sender.

But that didn't happen here.

What happened is that c.paxmahnhob@<yada yada yada> was not listed as a member on
the 78-L list anymore, so his email to 78-L was not accepted. MAILMAN sent it to my 78-L
folder as a message to accept or reject, defer or drop. Most all of these rejects are spam
emails sent to 78-L and I filter them so you will not be bothered by them. It is almost
impossible for an automatic filter to be perfect, and without my involvement some rather bad
phishing email would get on th 78-L list.

The next day, I saw the reject notice for c.paxmahnhob... and marked it for ACCEPT and it
got forwarded to the list. Thus dlennick and others got it late. If it happens again, then I
usually send an email to c.paxmahnhob to see if he wants to be on the list.

If too many emails to a member bounce, then they are automatically deleted. That must
happen, or else the bouncing email server administrator gets upset and lists 78-L on one of
the 'blackhole' sites, labeling it a domain that sends spam :(

Then it is my mess to get it unlisted.

Regards, Ron Fial, 78-L list manager.
