I am imagining Dr. Mike Biel trudging through the snow to get a 78-L email :)
I see that the usual 78 suspects are still out there, what a fast response.
I am open to ideas about how to put more life into the 78-L list. Suggestions are welcome.
Shellac and clay and carbon black, what an interesting medium, not as permanent as
cuneiform fired in clay, but wonderfully more secure than today's digital storage. All would
agree that that 78s are a weighty subject.
Storage and reproductive medium lifetimes are getting so short. Even CD/DVD/BluRay
drives are fading away -- no more rotating storage mediums on the horizon. Save a recent
resurgence of vinyl.
Regards to all and stay safe,
__Ron Fial
