[78-L] test

 I was just testing that the 78-L list is working properly.
There have not been many posts lately, so I was suspecting a computer problem.

The list started in 1992 at Cornell University, and I was asked to manage it a few years later.

Perhaps mail lists have gotten obsolete for this kind of discussion.   Is  78-L  headed for the 
ash heap ??    Anybody?
