[78-L] AFM ban discography

I thought that might be the reason that not so old and older jazz might have been put into sets.  It was a benefit for us, for sure.  Lots of those recordings were original metal parts I believe, and in some cases alternate takes, right?

Yes record companies could reissue old recordings during the ban. In fact, the Brunswick reissue series was started by Decca BECAUSE of the ban. Perhaps also the RCA Victor HJ Hot Jazz series as well. George Avakian also continued jazz reissues on Columbia — without them pesky John Hammond looking over his shoulder and taking undue credit.
