[78-L] Best decade for popular music?

1931-40. Hit its stride a coupke years in with the second wave of movie
musicals, hit a different kind of peak with the swing era, and ended with
the rise of BMI, which flooded the market with second-rate songs that just
weren't up to the standard of the previous decade's work.
