(Rerouting all my 78-L mail through the Yahoo address because direct responses via Bell Mail haven't been working for a few months, hence my infrequent postings here.)
Thanks for the plug..I've repackaged 3 sets I did for that Quality label (Direct Source) and they're available from me as cheap and cheerful compilations. Listings are over on Facebook (I know, nobody here acknowledges the existence of Facebook but that's your loss) in Lennick's Lacquers. And that Crosby item, if it's "The Road to Victory", was actually a pressed transcription disc for any and all stations to air during one of the Victory Loan campaigns.

I asked about this stuff about 15 years ago. Tom Brokaw spoke on our campus and the organizers asked me for some genuine WWII music. Like many of you, I've collected a lot of it over 50 years, so I built them a CD with more than they needed, and then did four hours of it on radio the week before he showed up. Before I assembled that, I recall asking you guys for listings of things I might have forgotten. Thanks to brother Lennick for a great Crosby item he found on a CBC transcription which he put on a Quality CD that I bought at Sams Club a couple years before. The program got repeated a few times and expanded to five hours for the weekend of the 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.
There is a truly wonderful site at https://www.historyonthenet.com/authentichistory/
Check the WWII section https://www.historyonthenet.com/authentichistory/1939-1945/index.html
The sections of music/records are terrific

I never found out who owns this site and it hasn't been updated in five years. Starting to worry for its future.

Subject: [78-L] Hate songs directed to Axis leaders
I recall someone asking (as far back as 10 years ago) for WWII songs imprecating the Axis leaders. I could only offer Berlin's "When that man is dead and gone".
But I recently bought_The Gem dance folio for 1943_ published by Shapiro Bernstein, and it has many unfamiliar songs which were probably never recorded.
partial contents:(the familiar)
In the blue of the evening
Pennsylvania polka
I came here to talk for Joe
Rose Ann of Charing Cross
(the unfamiliar)
Bye, bye Benito
Here comes the NavyI'm a pris'ner of war (on a foreign shore) I had a pal on Guadalcanal I'm in love with a guy who flies in the sky When the crimson snow of Russia is white again Care of Uncle Sam That's the infantry The blue bugle call Eyes aloft The US Engineers fight song
