Pianist Gottlieb Wallisch has produced a CD of classical composers attempting contemporary 1920's jazz vogues. It is amazing how widespread this dabbling was.
You can find the modern recordings by searching YouTube "20th Century Foxtrots, Vol. 1: Austria & Czechia" "Gottlieb Wallisch"
My question is whether any of these jazz-like forays were recorded when new.... and can any of them be recommended to today's collector.
You can easily find the tracklist by searching PrestoMusic.com , etc. A fuller explanation of the project appeared in Tuesday's "New York Times".
