[78-L] eclipse joke

For those old subscribers who are still on 78-L who might remember who
Thomas Edison was, he once told an eclipse joke which I saw on film:

 

A Scotsman runs into the telegraph office during a solar eclipse and says,
"I want to send a Night Letter."

 

Does anybody else get this, or shall I explain it to you?
