[78-L] Benny Goodman

Thanks, guys, for quick replies.
The reason why I'm asking is that Yiddish, in certain parts of Europe, 
lost it's position as first language for many emancipated Jews, who 
choose to use either the national languages in their homes, or the 
administrative languages, like German in the Czech-speaking parts of 
Bohemia. When Poland was divided in the 19th century Warsaw became under 
Austrian rule, and both Polish and German could have been used by the 
Goodman, or Guttman, family in Warsaw.
Again, the use of Yiddish by secular Jews in the US at least point to a 
Yiddish-speaking home for Benny.
But it'd be nice to know for sure.
