Where was that 1966 death date when we needed it? Sheesh! Oh well, that Pearl CD is long out of print anyway. And she was 13 when she recorded "Picnic" so how reliable is this info? November 3, 1944. (Dates came direct from the EMI archivist.)

Thanks for sharing. Like you, I felt that her voice was one of the best child voices of that era. According to information furnished by David Lennick, Ann Stephens lived into adulthood, moved to North America, made some movies and committed suicide. Exactly where and when unknown. > > > > db> > > > Sent from my iPhone> > > > > On Oct 8, 2015, at 9:56 PM, Mark Bardenwerper wrote:> > > > > > > > >> On 10/8/2015 5:09 PM, DAVID BUR

But browsing through a cabinet of 78s which is from the CBC collection, I encountered a set called, "King Wenceslas - A Xmas play", a set of 2 HMV 12 inch 78s with Ann Stephens as an actress and singer and a cast of players. It appears never to have been played since the surface is clean and whisper quiet and there are no marks on the label indicating searching for the spindle. It's a delightful performance with actors, narrator, Symphony Orchestra and Conductor Charles Williams. I don't know if it's particularly rare but it's new to me.> > >> db> > >> _______________________________________________> > >> 78-L mailing list> > >> 78-L at klickitat.78online.com> > >> http://klickitat.78online.com/mailman/listinfo/78-l> > > Anything done by this girl was first rate.
