Trumpeter Johnny Amoroso sang with Tommy Dorsey (1950-4) but I believe only played trumpet with Sammy Kaye, Harry James and Vincent Lopez.

Topic discussed before, but the answers change with time, inevitably.
So, apart from the three 98-years-old ladies Vera Lynn, Bea Wain and Helen Clare (who was "rediscovered" some time ago by BBC - see posts from 29 and 30 of August) - are there any other vocalists from the Dance Bands era around?
For those who'd like to hear Helen Clare herself talk about her career, here's a link to BBC Radio 4's "Saturday Live" from 29 August.

Besides the five already mentioned, and depending on when you consider the end of the Big Band Era, here are five more:
Kitty Kallen (Jan Savitt, Artie Shaw, Jack Teagarden, Jimmy Dorsey, Harry
James)
Gloria DeHaven (Jan Savitt, Bob Crosby, Guy Lombardo) Joan Leslie (Jimmy Dorsey) Kaye Ballard (Spike Jones) Ed Ames (Russ Morgan) There are a few others who sang during the Big Band Era, but as far as I can determine, no connections to big bands.

She was not a big time name, but my friend Sally King who lives here in the Seattle area worked for MCA in 1944-45 and did tours of one-nighters with both the Bernie Cummins and the Jack Teagarden bands...she's on at least one Teagarden track on an Armed Forces Transcription. Her label credit is some professional name invented by MCA but it's Sally...I've heard it.

Didn't Gloria de Haven also sing with a band or am I dreaming about that?

Taylor

Jan Savitt. I was using 1939 as the cutoff point.

That's even more radical than Rust. Why?
