Shipping thousands of records overseas is no problem at all, provided
(a) you employ a shipping broker or moving agent and
(b) you pack the records yourself: you should make sure that the
individual cartons holding ~25(-30) discs each are packed in a way that
ensures non-breakage (assuming that you know better than agents who have
never handled 78s before).
The cartons are then placed in a container with additional styrofoam
protection (this should be stipulated by you)
All the paperwork, customs clearing, insurance etc will be handled by
the agent. It really is easy and I have never encountered any problems.
