The Phedre piece actually sounds pretty good. The Rostand looks pretty beat up, bit of a trial to listen to.

The French Natl. Library might be a good place to look into [www.bnf.fr, I think.]

Are you aware that there are recordings of Hahn singing and playing?

A friend of mine asked if I could help her find some recordings of friends
of Reynaldo Hahn.

French recordings are a little outside of my area of collecting expertise.
Can anyone help? I'll pass along responses...

"I am studying a French composer named Reynaldo Hahn (1874-1947) who was
great friends with the actress Sarah Bernhardt. He gave some entertaining
lectures on singing and, when discussing diction, he often turns to the
great actors of the day as examples, including Bernhardt, Jean Mounet Sully
and his brother Paul Mounet. He also references some cabaret singers such
as Thérésa. Therefore I thought it would be helpful to hear how the actors
recited and I found some Bernhardt recordings on youtube but they are too
poor quality to distinguish much. Do you know where I can find some better
recordings of any of these actors or cabaret singers? Thanks!"
